Thailand's Chulalongkorn University estimated 2.8 million sex workers, of which 1.98 million were adult women, 20,000 were adult men and 800,000 were childrenIn Thailand, traffickers buys girls in the rural areas for a little as $3000 from their parents. This should not be the face on anti-watchtower activism. -

"A thousand years as one day"
by Awakened07 inthe scripture saying: "...one day is with the lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
" (2. peter 3:8) is often used both by jehovah's witnesses and others, to show that a day can literally mean a thousand years in the eyes of god.
this is then used especially for the creation story, and for the fall of adam and eve.

The premise that God lives outside of time has become the predominant Christian paradigm. Open Theists believe that the future is not settled but open because God is alive, eternally free, and inexhaustibly creative. Perhaps God can exist in both? Many good points are made in this interesting friendly debate on the topic between Will Duffy and Matt Slick:

Thailand has the dubious distinction of being the world capitol of child sex tourism and child prostitution. These kids are kept in utter slavery through drugs and intimidation. It is a living hell for the most innocent among us - children. If this is his thing, then ANYONE ever watching his videos will be contributing to his VACATIONS and CRIMES against humanity.
This is the larger story here.
Someone alluded to this as a question during the live-stream video. They asked something like, "Don't they have prostitutes in Croatia"? He dismissed this question.
In other words, why spend a fortune going to Thailand unless you are looking for a specific type of prostitute. It makes me wonder what Lloyd Evans was originally disfellowshipped for when he was an elder?

Interesting. Taking shots of (what looks like) liquor while he bears his soul on live stream.
Bazaar. Hard to watch.... he should get some counseling.

GB Says You Can Fellowship Without Being Reinstated
by Sea Breeze inthere is another way to fellowship with your loved ones after disagreeing with the wt besides getting reinstated.
all you have to do is fling yourself off a boat and start drowning, says watchtower:.
"suppose, then, a member of a christian congregation boating on a lake were to see another boat containing a disfellowshiped person capsize, throwing the disfellowshiped one into the water where he struggled to stay afloat.

Could the Christian ignore that one’s peril, row away and feel free from guilt before God—inasmuch as the one in danger of drowning was disfellowshiped, viewed as “a man of the nations”? Certainly not. That would be cruel and inhumane."

I had an aunt that had rheumatic fever as a child and only had an IQ the high 70's. But, absolutely no one was able to BS her on an emotional level. She had an uncanny ability to see through people's BS. Yea, she didn't get some jokes. But, she was the first one to tell me straight up that the problem with our family was that there wasn't much love in it. Funny how no one else figured that out. I come from a 3 & 4 gen JW family on both sides respectively.
Anyway, I truly enjoyed being around her. Sometimes she played dumb to get a reaction out of you. Other times she really didn't get something. But, you were never quite sure which was which; she always kept you guessing with that twinkle in her eye. That together with a sense of humor made her interesting and dear to me.
The rest of my JW family wrote her off as an idiot and couldn't wait to get her into a nursing home. When that day came, I wasn't notified. When I finally became aware of it I called her doctor and had quite a long conversation with him. He told me I was the first relative of hers that sounded normal. Of course, the rest of the family had "normal" IQ's I'm sure. But, multi-generational cult involvement takes its toll.My JW relatives tried to force the nursing home not to let us see her because they were shunning us (we were attending a church by that time). Several JW's were running the place. I told them that I would have the police there with the news media if they tried ANY crap whatsoever. They backed down.
JW relatives rarely went to see her, most never did... did I mention that she spoke her mind? That characteristic doesn't fare well In OZ.
Anyway. My wife and kids and I would make the 450 mile round trip to see her regularly. One time we busted her out of the nursing home to go see grandpas grave and get some ice cream. They sent a nurse along with us to help with the wheel chair and in case of 'accidents' if you know what I mean.
We had a grand time, and laughed a lot. The wheel chair got away from me a bit on a hill at the cemetery. She was scared and loving it all at the same time. I miss her.
I dated a girl once that had so many gifts that it would take a whole paragraph to describe. I tested at an IQ of 125. But she told me that when she tested they refused to tell her the result because they didn't want it to go to her head. It was truly amazing the gifts that she had in math, art and music. I watched her solve a math problem once that took up a whole chalk board while holding a mentally disabled child on her hip that was periodically throwing up on her. She was just laughing it all off as she solved for X. It was surreal.
But, I was still infected with WT theology and I guess her high IQ prompted her to get out after a few months into the relationship. Or, maybe her mother had something to do with it.
Anyway, sorry for the rambling. What are your thoughts on the topic? -

Facing Reality - It's a Death Cult (Romans 6: 7 Examined)
by Sea Breeze inwatchtower view on romans 6: 7 examined .
the watchtower teaches that the opportunity to be born again and enjoy complete justification with god ended in 1935, having been limited to only 144k since pentecost.
so, it is very surprising that the watchtower embraces the death that is described in romans chapter 6, since this is the very death that is required to be born again…… which is denied to watchtower members!

JW's will bet their entire life on a false understanding of Romans 6: 7. They take it out of context and imagine that when they die (literally) they get a clean slate.
The WT itself says differently in w85 12/1 p. 11 :
While still living in the flesh, these “righteous ones” undergo a symbolic death. The apostle Paul explains: ...Therefore we were buried with him through our baptism into his death, .. . . because we know that our old personality was impaled with him ...For he who has died has been acquitted from his sin.”—Romans 6:2-7.The word "acquitted should read "freed" because dead bodies can't sin anymore. That is the thought here. But all the same, the WT admits this is not talking about a physical death.
So then, Why do JW's stubbornly hang on to a doctrine of self-atonement? -
